Wow - what a day this was! We had the privilege of welcoming more than 2000 people into the church (and several cute dogs), and served many more with free tea, coffee and FT goodies outside. Our masseuses worked really hard to give head, neck & shoulder massages, and our face painter painted the faces of many children, and rather a few adults. The children were kept busy in the games room, watching a DVD, or bouncing on the bouncy castle. The Light & Life team were also able to pray with people, and listen to God for them, to find out what God might want to say to them. Finally, people were also provided with the opportunity to throw sponges at our rector, David McCarthy (not sure how many people did this exactly, but I'm guessing from David's point of view it felt like rather a lot!), and other very serving volunteers in the team. We were even blessed with not bad weather! Many thanks to everyone who helped with this event in one way or another, and to all those who came along - it was great to be able to welcome you, and we hope to see you again soon.
