St. Silas On-line Archive

The idea of this section of the web site is to have a place to record what goes on in the life of the church. It is also about as close as we get to looking at the ancient history of the church as the focus of the web site is fixed on what God is doing now! As always suggestions (and old photos) welcome! The photos are now all stored using Flickr and can be viewed and searched seperatly at the St Silas Flickr web pages

Last service in Hayburn Street Mission (Partick)
"After the War the number of members of the Mission Church diminished to a tragic degree. Inherent in such a situation was the loss of the Mission income, so that, sadly, it was resolved to sell the Church. The last services were held on 21st June, 1951. Happily, a large proportion of the congregation were able to transfer their membership to the mother church of St. Silas."
Hayburn Street Mission (Partick) found it necessary to increase its facilities by building a Hall in Ardery Street Partick."
